The Best of Discovery-it #385
Hi there, welcome back to The Best of Discovery-it! All the best posts voted by the Discovery-it curator team will have their own dedicated space within the Hive blockchain. This digest intends to bring to light all those authors who often remain unnoticed and therefore reward all those who create quality posts, leading them to establish themselves on the platform. But that's not all!
After a careful selection, our curators will also choose the most deserving articles among all those voted to create a ranking of the Top posts of the day.
So who are today's winners?
In this post natti shares with us some beautiful photos from Samtavro Monastery, which is located at Mtskheta at about 20 km from Tbilisi. In the monastery area you can see several monuments: the main temple, St. Nino’s church, bell tower and fence of tower. Don’t miss this amazing selection of photos!
Today’s subject of rima11’s artwork is an octopus. The artist found the reference image on Pinterest and loved how mysterious it looked. In the post you can also see the process step by step, from the sketch to the colouring process, the highlights and the shadows. “I used coloured pencils, a graphite pencil, and a black marker” the artist told us.
Today gulugu shows us an amazing illustration representing an autumn walk surrounded by nature. “Although I don't actually wear a mask when I'm outside just taking a walk, I wanted to draw it because I wanted to capture the mood of our times currently” the author told us. In the post you can also see some steps of the creative process.
Anonymus, Psalm 66, Variatio 2 | Secrets of Organ playing, Week 103
In this post partitura shares with us another great piece which is the second variation of an anonymous composer on Psalm 66, one of the pieces from manuscript Ms Lynar B7. “The Lynar manuscripts were preserved in the holdings of the Duke of Lynar in Lübbenau, and are therefore also known as the Lübbenauer Orgeltabulaturen. Two of them, large codices in staff notation, bear the designation Lynar A1 and A2. The eleven disparate fascicles in German organ tablature bear the designation B1 to B11. The B-collection represents the most comprehensive source of works by North German composers who were students of Sweelinck” the author told us. Don’t miss it!
