Hello everyone :)!
This Christmas was really special for me because I FINALLY experienced a white Christmas again. I honestly can’t remember the last time I saw this much snow during the holidays, so it felt almost unreal. There’s about 50 centimeters of snow, maybe even more and everything looks like marshmallows like Dean Martin sings ;)!
In Zagreb, snow usually doesn’t last long. If it even falls, it often melts the same day, so seeing this much snow feels rare. But in Žumberak, snow like this isn’t anything unusual. It’s part of life here, even if it still manages to surprise me every time. Although I must admit about 10 years ago we couldn’t even see the neighbors house from all the snow😅. After two full days of waiting, the snowplow finally cleared the roads, and suddenly everything felt a bit more connected again.
Why does this one look like a gun(??)
Even though the snow wasn’t really ideal for sledding, I still enjoyed it in every possible way. I couldn’t resist making snow angels, nowballs, and of course that turned into a proper snowball fight with my parents😄. It felt so simple and fun, like being a kid again, and those are the moments that stay with you the most. Isn’t it?
This one looks a tad bit.. weird😅
Because there was so much snow, I spenta good part of the days shoveling and making paths around the house so we could walk more freely. It made me appreciate the effort that goes into everyday things we usually take for granted. Although I enjoy the fresh snow and when it’s not ruined with footsteps haha!
We even lost electricity for an entire day, which honestly made the whole experience even more memorable. We lit candles to brighten the rooms, laughed about it, and somehow it felt cozy instead of stressful🤣. Moments like that remind you how little you actually need to feel okay.
Christmas, to me, is really about gratitude, kindness, and slowing down. It’s a reminder to be gentle with each other, to appreciate the people around us, and to take a moment to be thankful for what we have, even when things don’t go perfectly. A little patience, warmth, and understanding go a long way, not just during the holidays, but every day.
And here’s a picture I created :)!
I wish all of you a peaceful, warm, and joyful Christmas.
Merry Christmas to everyone🎄❄️
