In fact, these flowers are not black, but very dark reddish purple. They are covered with fine hair that protects them from night frosts. They grow in weight on this little hillside, so I have to be careful where I step.

I was only disturbed once, a young and very excited dog came up to me and barked, so I jumped up in fright. Then the dog’s owner apologized and I laughed.
Aside from this encounter, no one was in the area. Only the sounds of the birds could be heard, and I would have preferred to have stayed there all day.
