Already the middle of the week. Yesterday, for the first time, I went to have lunch with a client. I told myself that in the age of AI, a developer can quickly be replaced, and that it wouldn't hurt to see my clients in person, to show that there is a real human behind it.
And above all to create real connections and open new perspectives.
It's been a few years since I've been using AI in my work. For a year now, everything has accelerated. Even more so these last 3 months. From my job as a developer, I mostly keep the software thinking, the strategy, the big picture.
So yes, I earn more than before, but the more I talk to AI, the more I feed it my way of working. It then becomes more and more efficient, to the point of anticipating certain tasks before I even formulate them.
One might say that it would be enough to stop talking to it. But investments in AI are so massive that it's no longer a realistic option. The best solution is to jump on the moving train and transform one's work little by little.
It doesn't really bother me. On the contrary, I find this adventure exciting. On the other hand, it is exhausting.
One thing is certain: the more AI takes over my tasks, the more I want to be human. To find meaning. And I think that's what, deep down, pushed me to go to lunch yesterday, despite my reserved nature. It also allowed me to have a real conversation with this client, who we can now call a partner.
Don't be afraid of AI. Computers in offices, they turned you into robots. AI, it takes back that mechanical work and lets you become yourselves again.

Déjà le milieu de la semaine. Hier, pour la première fois, je suis allé déjeuner avec un client. Je me suis dit qu'à l'ère de l'IA, un développeur peut vite être remplacé, et que ça ne ferait pas de mal de voir mes clients en vrai, pour montrer qu'il y a un véritable humain derrière.
Et surtout pour créer de vrais liens et ouvrir de nouvelles perspectives.
Cela fait quelques années que j'utilise l'IA dans mon travail. Depuis un an, tout s'est accéléré. Encore plus ces 3 derniers mois. De mon métier de développeur, je garde surtout la réflexion logicielle, la stratégie, la vision d'ensemble.
Alors oui, je gagne plus qu'avant, mais plus je parle à l'IA, plus je la nourris de ma façon de travailler. Elle devient alors de plus en plus efficace, au point d'anticiper certaines tâches avant même que je les formule.
On pourrait se dire qu'il suffirait de cesser de lui parler. Mais les investissements dans l'IA sont tellement massifs que ce n'est plus une option réaliste. La meilleure solution, c'est de prendre le train en marche et de transformer son travail au fur et à mesure.
Ça ne me dérange pas vraiment. Au contraire, je trouve cette aventure excitante. En revanche, elle est épuisante.
Une chose est sûre : plus l'IA reprend mes tâches, plus j'ai envie d'être humain. De trouver du sens. Et je pense que c'est ça, au fond, qui m'a poussé à aller déjeuner hier, malgré mon naturel réservé. Ça m'a aussi permis d'avoir une vraie conversation avec ce client, qu'on peut désormais appeler partenaire.
N'ayez pas peur de l'IA. Les ordinateurs dans les bureaux, eux, vous transformaient en robots. L'IA, elle, reprend ce travail mécanique et vous laisse redevenir vous-mêmes.
