Hello, my dear Hivers!
This afternoon, I just want to share a simple but memorable story that happened after my internship duty. It wasn’t anything grand , but it turned out to be one of those peaceful moments that make you pause and appreciate little things.
Right after duty, I decided to stop by one of the local stores that sells food packages for occasions. Since our fiesta is coming up soon, I was already planning ahead , looking for ready-made food trays to serve at home. Before heading there, I even asked some of my friends if they had any suggestions on where to buy or order from, and they recommended this store called McCoy’s Food Package. So, I went there to check it out!
When I arrived, I looked around and saw different kinds of party trays , from pancit, spaghetti, barbecue, to native delicacies. Everything looked delicious and nicely packed! I took a quick picture to show my mama so she could also choose what she wanted for the fiesta menu.
After inquiring and checking their prices, I decided to head home. I rode a tricycle going to the bus stop. It was one of those calm afternoons , the sky was starting to turn gray, hinting that rain might come anytime soon.
A few minutes later, the bus arrived. Luckily , it wasn’t crowded, so I didn’t have to stand. I quickly found my favorite seat , the one at the very back, right in the middle. I always love sitting there because it gives me a clear view of the road ahead. I can see the passing trees , the houses by the highway, and the way the sunlight sometimes hits the windows just right. It’s also one of the few spots , where I don’t feel dizzy during long rides.
As the bus started moving, I noticed the clouds growing darker and heavier. I realized I didn’t bring my umbrella , I had left it at home because I thought it would just make my bag heavier. And of course , just my luck, it started raining heavily a minute before my stop!
When I finally got off the bus , the rain was pouring hard. Good thing there was a small shed nearby, so I quickly ran there to take cover. I wasn’t completely soaked , thanks to the paper bag I was holding, I used it to shield myself a bit while running. I stood there, watching the rain hit the ground and the drops sliding down the roofs. There’s something calming about watching the rain , even if it messes up your plans a bit.
While waiting for the rain to slow down, something cute happened , I noticed a dog hiding behind me, trying to stay dry too! It looked so adorable , with its fur slightly wet and its eyes looking up like it was asking for company. I didn’t recognize the dog , but I guessed it probably belonged to one of the nearby houses where I was taking shelter.
It stayed close by the whole time , wagging its tail softly whenever I looked back. I took a short video and sent it to my siblings since they’re really into dogs. They replied right away saying, “Aww, so cute!” It still made me smile.
Moments like that , simple, unplanned, and ordinary , sometimes end up being the most heartwarming.
And that’s all for today’s blog, my dear Hivers! Thank you so much for reading my little rainy day story.
