Striking yellow and white pattern.
Have you ever seen a snake this big? I was waiting for the zookeeper to bring it out so I could take a picture while holding it but they said the snake was tired and weak, so they couldn’t bring it out. That was the main reason I went to the zoo. I wonder how old it is and how many meters long. It’s interesting to see how they sleep with their bodies curled up. I used to only see snakes like this on TV, but now I’ve seen one in real life.
A calm but striking pose.
Look how long it is. The snake was lifting its head and I thought maybe it was hungry because it kept moving around at that time. It was so active and did not stop moving inside the cage. I was thinking about what they eat, how they are fed and how the caretakers clean their place. While I was watching, so many thoughts came to my mind because the snake looked so strong and brave.
Watching this iguana lying.
The iguana really looked so cute as it lay flat on the wooden platform. At first, I thought it was just resting but since it did not move the whole time I was taking the picture, I felt like it was sleeping. Its body was stretched out comfortably, with its tail extended and its legs relaxed.

I think this is an iguana or Lizard, but I am not sure. It looks so cute because it is just lying down and not moving. In Tagalog, we call a small one butiki, but this one is big. Iguanas eat plants like leaves and fruits. They can climb trees too. I like them in the house because they help eat bugs and mosquitoes. Some people do not like them inside the house but we all have different likes.
A softshell turtle.
This kind of turtle looks different because of its wide back. At first, I thought it was just a stone, but then I noticed it had feet and was swimming.
Red Eared Slider turtles.
There was a caretaker watching over them and giving them food, that’s why they became so active. There were actually many of them but not all were captured in the picture since I focused more on those crawling out of the water.
Long necked turtle.
When I looked at it, the turtle was floating in the water inside the glass enclosure. It was really big when I saw it in person. It just kept swimming around in the water and I found it amazing to watch.
Bayawak (monitor lizard)
I’m not really sure what this animal’s name is. We call it bayawak in my place. I thought it only lived on land but I saw it swimming in the water. It was so big that I first thought it was a crocodile. There are so many different animals here and I got to see some that I don’t often see. I usually only see them on Facebook but now I saw them in real life.

Now I know that this kind of monitor lizard is different because it is usually found in the water. Maybe it’s not the same as the ones I see in the rice fields, grasslands, or climbing trees. I really didn’t know there was such a kind like this.
A dress made of butterflies.
The butterflies looked so real but they were not. There were many butterflies but I couldn’t take a picture because the place was crowded. I took a photo from here instead. They are all very colorful and beautiful. This time, I only saw them on the small tree branch.

It’s so amazing and beautiful to look at. Who would think that this is only artificial, when it looks so real? I hope to see the real ones on my next visit here.
