Today the rain returned to the Montalbán valley, and I also finished some pending tasks quite early. So the afternoon was perfect for spending some time selecting some of my unpublished photos taken during my most recent countryside excursions and experimenting freely with processing and editing them.

The "recipe" for this series of photos I'm sharing with you today begins with the RAW files, which I processed using the "clarity" converter liberally, as well as sharpening adjustments, luminance curves, and some color intensity reductions. Only after this did I export to JPG, and that's where I started playing with the color channels, using fade layers, vignetting, and levels until I achieved the desired results. Obviously, in between all of this was the step of cropping to 16:9 and compositing the photos. But the truth is, I do this in a rather haphazard way, with a very noticeable empirical approach. Well, I'm not one to use presets or anything like that, so the intention here was to treat each photo according to its character and following my creative needs...

Hoy la lluvia hizo nuevamente acto de presencia en al valle de Montalbán y además terminé bastante temprano de atender algunas tareas pendientes que tenía. Así que la tarde fue muy propicia para invertir algo de mi tiempo en seleccionar algunas de mis fotos inéditas hechas durante mis más recientes excursiones campestres, y experimentar con mucha libertad procesándolas y editándolas...

La "receta" para esta serie de fotos que traigo para compartir con ustedes hoy, comienza desde los archivos RAW, los cuales procesé usando de manera muy generosa el conversor de "claridad" así como el los ajustes de enfoque, las curvas de luminosidad y algunos descensos de intensidad cromática, y solo después de esto exporte a JPG y allí fue donde me dediqué a jugar con los canales de color, con capas de atenuación, viñetas y niveles hasta lograr los resultados que deseaba. Obviamente, en medio de todo esto estuvo el paso de recortar a 16:9 y componer las fotos. Pero la verdad, es que hago esto de manera anárquica y con un toque empírico muy notable. Pues no soy un tipo de usar presets ni nada por el estilo, así que la intención aquí era la de tratar cada foto según su carácter y siguiendo mi necesidad creativa...

Some of these photographs have what I call "sister photos," taken on the same days but with different angles and intentions. I've already processed and edited many of these "sister photos" in recent days, in their natural color, and even some in black and white, as I usually do. But seeing the results I obtained with these, I can't help but think about how radical the change in the visual perception of a space can be when its color scheme is dramatically altered as in these photos. In fact, I think it's the first time I've done cinematic processing on photos of rural areas, and I have to confess that I'm very pleased with the result...

Algunas de estas fotografías tienen lo que llamo "fotos hermanas" hechas los mismos días pero con ángulos e intenciones distintas, y muchas de esas "fotos hermanas" ya las he procesado y editado en días pasado en color natural e incluso algunas en blanco y negro como más acostumbro a hacer. Pero al ver los resultado que obtuve con estas, no puedo dejar de pensar en cuan radical puede ser el cambio en la percepción visual de un espacio, cuando su cromatismo se modifica de manera dramática como en estas fotos. De hecho, creo que es la primera vez que hago un procesado cinemático para fotos de áreas campestres, y tengo que confesar que me ha gustado mucho el resultado...
