I was visiting the ever popular Stanley Park, when I came across this statue that I had never seen before. At the precise moment, a stately crow came in flying, as you can see in the following image, and landed right on top.
Talk about timing!
Then the crow perched on the raptor's head, and stood there sitting, as if thinking of fantastic things never thought before.
The raven crowed as I moved closer fiddling with my camera. When I look up, I didn't see him anymore, so I walked around and inspected the sculpture that was named Shore to Shore.
As the sign indicates the sculpture was "carved in cedar then cast in bronze" to commemorate the historical connection between first nations and Portuguese communities. I enjoy the mix of European and indigenous motifs. A wonderful reminder of the cultural tapestry that is Canada's west coast.
