One of the 7 habits of great Indonesian children is building social awareness.
Participation in social activities fosters caring, tolerant, and cooperative children. This habit teaches noble values such as mutual cooperation and solidarity in community life. source
The students were introduced to mutual cooperation or cleaning places frequently visited by the community, such as museums, places of worship, villages, and other places.
They were cleaning places of worship near their schools or districts, and they might even travel further away from the area. What they did today serves as an example of the community life they will experience in the future.
They learn and practice firsthand what they do in a place of worship. They learn how to maintain the sanctity of the place, clean the yard by sweeping and picking up trash.
This practice is carried out once a month, or even several times a semester. This fosters a sense of community within them. Today they are learning, and when they grow up, they will be immersed in real-life community life. They have experienced all of this long ago; it's just a matter of applying it to their lives.
