Good night to all my beloved hive friends ❤️
In this post I will share an exciting experience of mine while exploring a palm oil plantation to look for moments and objects to photograph, I did this exploration in the afternoon because the afternoon is the peak time of activity for many insects. In accordance with my expectations, in this exploration I managed to find many interesting objects such as the discovery of baby turtle doves, land leech, and a flower bee.
It's been a long time since I explored a palm oil plantation like this, but this time I missed something I used to do like going on an adventure into the forest or exploring an abandoned plantation. It's about finding something amazing because I believe that the further we explore nature, the more interesting things we will find.
It was already evening and the atmosphere under the oil palm trees was already very dark, fortunately in this plantation there was an area that was still filled with young oil palm trees, so the atmosphere was still quite bright. Above the leaves we could also see the orange rays of the setting sun which indicated that night would soon come.
Oh yes, in this exploration I was accompanied by my pet cat, so I had a friend at that time even though I couldn't chat Lol. I continued walking around this plantation, looking around and hoping to find something amazing, not long after I was surprised by the sound of the flapping wings of a bird flying from inside the oil palm tree, with curiosity I began to approach the tree.
After I looked at it, it turned out that on top of this palm oil tree there was a nest of turtle doves, the nest still looked quite new, it would have been impossible if I had only seen this bird's nest from a distance, after I got closer it turned out that there were two turtle dove chicks which were very cute.
However,he is still very much a baby, in my estimation this baby bird is only one week old, starting from its soft feathers which are still brownish yellow and its eyes are not yet open. I know the mother bird is definitely watching me so I didn't linger here, but before that I decided to take a photo of these baby turtle doves first, to be honest they are very cute, maybe in about two weeks the main feathers will start to grow.
The atmosphere in this oil palm plantation is quite humid and one thing I really don't like is the large number of mosquitoes. I felt an itch on my leg, at first I thought it was a mosquito bite, but after I looked at it, it turned out there was a land leech on my leg that was sucking my blood.
Land leeches often live on damp grass or leaves, they are generally harmless but their bites can cause itching, swelling and bleeding, but because of their strange shape, many people are afraid and don't like this ectoparasitic animal, I myself used to be very afraid, but because I often encounter them so I'm used to it.
It was getting dark, and there wasn't much else I could do here so I quickly decided to make my way home. However, on my way home I managed to find a bee perched on a wildflower.
I don't know what this bee is doing, but this bee has a relatively smaller size than bees in general,i managed to photograph this bee using a macro lens so that every detail can be seen clearly and beautifully. However, because it was getting dark, I didn't have enough light to photograph this bee, but the results still looked beautiful
