Great day Hivers...
I am eager to share with you all my daughter's first try at making a ginger bug for their science project..
As parents, we really want to get involved in our daughter's school activities, even in a simple school project like this..
My husband set up the camera at the side..
while my daughter prepared the ingredients and other things she needed..
First, she sliced the ginger into small pieces.. and put them into a glass bottle..
then she put sugar and water.. stir until the sugar was dissolved.. all while recording it..
She moved her phone to different angles.. and I was just there holding the light.. 🤣
We had fun while doing it.. I spilled a few drops of water while pouring it because we were both laughing for no reason.. 😆 she had to record it multiple times.. 😁
After she's done with her recording,, there were still large chunks of ginger left, so I decided to make my own ginger ale..
I chopped the rest into smaller pieces..
We don't have a juicer, so I used the nutribullet instead..
After that, I strained it to separate the juice from the ginger pulp.. I strained it 3x to make sure there's no more pulp left.. This could've been easier if I had cheesecloth because I think the holes on my strainer aren't fine enough to strain the pulp.. 😅
after straining it multiple times, I added 2 tablespoons of sugar..
Then, I transferred the mixture into a glass bottle so I could refrigerate it overnight..
I tasted it,, it was spicy but sweet.. It's perfect when you're having soar throught.. It'll help relieve it..
Well, that's all for our little experiment today.. 😁
Have a nice day..
