Abu al-Aas went to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) before his mission and said:
"I want to marry your eldest daughter Zainab."
(Adab)
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "I will not do so until I ask her permission."
(Sharaa)
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) went to Zainab and said:
"Your cousin is asking you to marry him. Do you like him for yourself?"
Zainab's face turned red and she smiled.
(Hayaa)
Zainab married Abu al-Aas bin Rabi', which began a love story, and they gave birth to Ali and Umamah.
(Khushi)
Then there was a stage when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) received the prophethood, and Abu al-Aas was on a journey. When he returned, it was found that his wife had become a Muslim.
(Aqeedah)
Zainab told him the good news of her Islam, so Abu al-Aas moved away from him.
(Respect)
Zainab was surprised and followed him. She said:
"My father has become a prophet, and I have become a Muslim."
Abu Al-As said: "Did you tell me first or did you ask my permission?"
