Mein Tag hat heute damit begonnen, dass wir auf eins der Felder gefahren sind, beziehungsweise eigentlich ist es ein Grundstück, weil auf dem wird jetzt bald gebaut. Und da sind drei Olivenbäume gewesen, die wir komplett kahlschneiden haben müssen, weil die versetzt werden durch einen Bagger. Und ja, Olivenbäume sind halt wirklich... Es hat mal hier auf der Insel in den 80ern oder 90ern super heftig gebrannt. Und da sind super viele Olivenbäume verbrannt, aber die Dinger sind praktisch nicht tot zu kriegen. Also die kriegen jetzt beispielsweise schon wieder Sprösslinge, die da dran sind. Das dauert natürlich super super lange, weil Olivenbäume super langsam wachsen. Allerdings, so wie wir die jetzt kahl geschnitten haben, müssten die in ein, zwei Jahren schon wieder gut Triebe haben. Geht halt einfach darum, die müssen halt versetzt werden. Und ja, das hat dann heute Morgen ungefähr drei oder vier Stunden in Anspruch genommen. Wir hatten keine Kettensäge. Wir haben das tatsächlich alles per Hand gemacht. Habe ich mir auch nicht so vorgestellt, aber es hat alles funktioniert. Auf jeden Fall, danach waren wir noch in einem recht alten Dorf hier auf der Insel. Sind da ein bisschen spazieren gegangen und waren da auch bei den Wasserfällen. Normalerweise sind die Wasserfälle immer übertrieben besucht. Und guess what? War natürlich heute wieder gar keiner da, außer ich gefühlt. Und abends bin ich nach Limenaria gefahren und habe da eine Zeitrafferaufnahme gemacht. Vom Sonnenuntergang. Ja, das war so heute mein Tag.

My day started with us going to one of the fields, or rather, it's more like a plot of land because it's going to be built on soon. There were three olive trees that we had to completely prune because they will be moved by an excavator. Olive trees are amazing... There was a massive fire here on the island in the 80s or 90s, and many olive trees burned down, but they're practically indestructible. For instance, these trees already have sprouts growing again. It takes a really long time because olive trees grow very slowly, but with the way we trimmed them, they should have new shoots in a year or two. The main point is that they need to be relocated. This whole task took about three or four hours this morning. We didn't have a chainsaw and actually did everything by hand. It wasn't what I expected, but it all worked out. Afterward, we visited a pretty old village here on the island, walked around a bit, and checked out the waterfalls. Normally, the waterfalls are always packed with people, but guess what? Today, there was no one there, except for me, it seemed. In the evening, I went to Limenaria and made a time-lapse video of the sunset. So yeah, that was my day.
Wie sieht es mit den Kalorien aus?
Was habe ich heute gegessen? Ich habe heute Morgen einen Quark gegessen. Wieder natürlich mit dem Müsli. Und habe noch zwei Äpfel reingeschnitten. Mittags hatte ich Hähnchenbrust. Zusammen mit ein bisschen Reis. Ja, und ich habe tatsächlich bis jetzt noch gar nicht zu Abend gegessen. Ich muss mir noch überlegen, was ich zu Abend esse. Aber ich werde eh nicht über meine Kalorien kommen. Also ich gehe mal davon aus, dass es wahrscheinlich irgendwie auf einen Toast oder so mit Käse und Wurst hinauslaufen wird. Weil ich werde heute Abend nicht mehr großartig noch was machen. Da habe ich keinen Bock drauf. Und viele der Restaurants hier haben zu. Ich hätte eigentlich gedacht, ich ersetze Döner durch Gyrospita. Aber keine Gyros-Bude hat hier noch offen. Ich bin leicht enttäuscht. Ich bin ehrlich.
What about the calories?
What did I eat today? This morning, I had some quark, of course with muesli, and I also chopped up two apples. For lunch, I had chicken breast with some rice. And honestly, I haven't had dinner yet. I still need to figure out what I'll eat tonight, but I won’t go over my calorie limit anyway. I’m guessing it’ll probably be something like toast with cheese and sausage because I won’t do anything too fancy this evening—I just don’t feel like it. Plus, many of the restaurants here are closed. I was actually thinking I could swap out a kebab for a gyro pita, but none of the gyro places are open anymore. I'm slightly disappointed, to be honest.
