Thursday.
We're back on track with the actifitivity reporting. I am writing this on Thursday evening but I'll mindfully wait for well past midnight to use 's "yesterday" option to post these pictures for #fungifriday. No more happy app-accidents like the last couple of days.
I don't know what it is, but it really nags me that the app made me mess up my daily reporting rhythm. It's probably some sort of stupid OCD or useless blogroll vanity...
I dunno, it doesnt matter, let's look at some shrooms now!
Starting of with some proper slimy looking ones. It might look like they're secreting some sort of liquid but I am pretty sure it's more like they somehow capture and retain the rain on their surface.
It rained a lot the last few days, but not today. I was hoping to find some big and impressive mushrooms but all I found was tiny ones.
It's the little things that matter, though.
We've seen these before. Little ones that colonize decomposing pine cones.
But you know what?! I bet if someone cleaned up around them for a minute they'll look even cuter ;)
Beautiful!
Now, before we take a closer look at the best shot of the day, teased in the title image already, I also saw something rather odd today:
Little red dots covering patches of the moss. I don't think I've ever seen something like that before.
It kind of looks like it's part of the moss but it could also be some weird type of mushroom. Maybe even insect eggs?!? I have no idea!
I'll try to come back here in a week or so to see if it grows or hatches or something.
This little guy, living a few feet above those red bubbly things, probably won't be around anymore by then. Small and cute, they come and go within a few days, so he deserves to be the star of this post.
And let's crop in for some more crispy, fluffy, shroomy detail.
I'll say it again: Beautiful!
Thanks for your time!
