This was a tough one for me. Pretty much every member in our household has some degree of a bug that we seemingly caught over the course of the weekend presumably while attending my friend's daughters bday party.
It was a lot of fun but eventually the little ones started exhibiting symptoms such as coughing and general malaise. For me, it had been quite a bit of congestion but it seems based on my stats today that my performance was also affected.
Another factor is my decision to run on the track because of it having rained cats and dogs today. I didn't really care for it becoming a mud run but even the track had been mostly covered in deposits likely from receding flood water.
I noticed a young child seemingly using me as a marker or goal to pass doing a lap. I was going for longer distance but I just feel like I didn't have it in my to catch up to him as I enjoy a bit of healthy competition.
After about an hour, I hit 4 miles and decided that is all she wrote. I jogged most of it but it really wasn't my day. Soon after, the rain started back so that was my cue.
With the completion of this jog / walk, we are brought to 16.17 miles total. This distance is equivalent to the height of Olympus Mons, the tallest volcano and shield volcano on Mars, which stands about 16 miles (25 kilometers) high, nearly three times the height of Mount Everest!
