It's been forever since I last hit over 9k steps. This is a milestone for me. LOL.
I started the day late, with grocery shopping at around noon time. Since then, it was nonstop until this very moment I am writing this.
It's the last day of the Manar Abu Dhabi today. It is an initiative of the Public Art Abu Dhabi with exhibition of new commissions and site-specific light sculptures, projections, and immersive artworks by local and international artists.
There are many different sites for this exhibition that is scattered all over the city, however, we did not get the chance to go to all. I cannot let this day pass without visiting at least these two sites:
Live Drone Shows at the Louvre, Saadiyat Island
The drone show is best viewed from the Louvre Abu Dhabi Garden - with four shows scheduled each night, lasting 25 minutes.
I was hoping we could catch the 6:00pm show, but we got stuck in rush hour traffic and reached there towards the end of the show already. We decided to wait for the second run at 7:30pm. It was amazing.
Land Art & Lights at Fahid Island
I honestly thought that Fahid Island was close by the Saadiyat, but it was about 20 kilometers away. Nonetheless, we still drove there to witness a rather interesting art installation.
Upon reaching the exhibition site, we crossed the bridge to witness this sand art.
Sand pyramids greeted us upon crossing the bridge. It went from big to small towards the center of the installation. The kids were surprisingly amused by it. I thought they would be disinterested by just mounds of sand, but nope. They loved it.
After spending about 40 minutes here, we drove home with tired feet but happy hearts from this short evening trip.
