I've heard the "I'm a few minutes away" so many times... My favorite was when being on the bus, I heard a man speaking on the phone saying: "Oh, yeah I'm on my way, I'm already in Atuntaqui." We had just left the bus station in Ibarra, meaning we were around 10km away. No idea why people lie like that...
