Today was not a perfectly optimized masterpiece. It was one of those days that eats your calendar and leaves you negotiating with the clock. By the time I got out, it was after 4pm and the sky looked personally offended.
The smarter plan was two shorter walks. Better structure. Cleaner recovery.
Instead, I went with one longer walk. Lower speed. Less ego.
The first photo, bare branches cutting into a heavy sky, dramatic for no reason. The canal path in the second shot stretches forward like a quiet challenge. Wet pavement, cold air, no shortcuts. The third, open water under thick clouds, looking exactly how kilometer four felt.
Somewhere along the way, the rhythm settled in. Not fast. Not impressive. Just steady.
Five kilometers. First since surgery.
No sunshine. No hype. Just consistency and a slower pace that respected the process.
Apparently rain does not cancel progress. It just makes it look more cinematic.
