Przez belgijską pocztę zostałem zmuszony do dłuższego spaceru do centrum. Przesyłka, którą specjalnie zamówiłem do pobliskiego paczkomatu, by nie chodzić zbyt daleko, z niewiadomego powodu nie została tam dostarczona. W aplikacji pojawił się tylko komunikat, że przesyłka jest do odebrania w głównym urzędzie pocztowym w Mons. Belgia długo broniła się przed paczkomatami; kiedy w Polsce kilka lat temu były one standardem dostępnym na każdym rogu, tutaj pierwsze urządzenia pojawiły się zaledwie 2–3 lata temu. Dopiero w ubiegłym roku stały się naprawdę popularne – do tego stopnia, że teraz ciągle się zapychają, bo wciąż jest ich zdecydowanie za mało.
[ENG] The Belgian postal service forced me into a long walk to the city center today. A package I specifically ordered to a nearby parcel locker to avoid a long trek wasn't delivered there for some unknown reason. The app simply displayed a message saying the parcel was ready for pickup at the main post office in Mons. Belgium resisted parcel lockers for a long time; while they became a standard in Poland years ago, available on every corner, the first ones here appeared only 2–3 years ago. They only truly gained popularity last year—to the point where they are constantly full because there simply aren't enough of them.
W ten sposób po raz kolejny w ostatnich dniach trafiłem do centrum miasta. Pogoda się poprawiła i trochę żałowałem, że zabraknie mi czasu na bieganie. Z drugiej strony coś mnie drapie w gardle i nie wiem, czy trening w takim stanie byłby dobrym pomysłem na dzień przed podróżą. Kilka dni przerwy dobrze mi zrobi; do biegania wrócę w przyszłym tygodniu, po powrocie do Belgii.
[ENG] And so, once again in recent days, I found myself in the city center. The weather improved, and I felt a bit of regret that I wouldn't have time for a run. On the other hand, my throat is a bit scratchy, and I’m not sure if running in this condition would be a good idea the day before a trip. A few days' break will do me good; I’ll get back to running next week, after I return to Belgium.
