Wykorzystaliśmy dobrą pogodę na wycieczkę, by pokazać gościom Paryż. To już tradycja, że każdy, kto nas odwiedza, chce zobaczyć stolicę Francji – zwłaszcza że z Mons to niespełna trzy godziny jazdy (zakładając korki w okolicach celu). Ostatnio kolega polecił mi tani parking na przedmieściach Paryża, tuż przy stacji metra. To był strzał w dziesiątkę! Uniknęliśmy przebijania się do centrum, a wieczorem bez problemu ruszyliśmy w stronę domu. Żona była zaskoczona, że tak szybko znaleźliśmy się na autostradzie do Belgii, nie stojąc w żadnych korkach.
[ENG] We took advantage of the good weather to show our guests around Paris. It’s become a tradition that everyone who visits us wants to see the French capital, especially since it’s less than a three-hour drive from Mons (assuming there's traffic near the destination). Recently, a colleague recommended a cheap parking lot on the outskirts of Paris near a metro station, and it was a total game-changer. We avoided the struggle of driving into the city center and heading back out in the evening. My wife was surprised at how quickly we got onto the highway toward Belgium without getting stuck in any traffic jams.
Na początek była kawa i croissant, by nabrać energii na ten intensywny dzień. Ponieważ była to nasza kolejna wizyta w Paryżu, nieco zmodyfikowałem trasę, by uniknąć rutyny. Oczywiście nie mogło zabraknąć takich miejsc jak Luwr (do którego za każdym razem obiecujemy sobie wrócić na spokojne zwiedzanie), Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Wieża Eiffla czy Île de la Cité. Zmęczenie naszych gości było najlepszym dowodem na to, że wycieczka była bardzo udana.
[ENG] We started with coffee and croissants to fuel up for the intense day ahead. Since this was another visit to Paris for us, I changed the route slightly to avoid the routine of walking the same paths. Of course, the itinerary had to include places like the Louvre (which we promise ourselves every time we'll visit properly one day), the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, and Île de la Cité. The sheer exhaustion of our guests proved that the trip was a huge success.
