Had grand ideas of going for a bike ride. Got stuck into doing some stuff at home. Wrote up the weekly investing post. Did some yard work. Got lazy and drove down the hill for an orchid walk
This velvet colour mushroom was right where I wanted to stand for the orchid photo
Tom Cats orchid two metres above my head
Cestichis reflexa
Greenhood rosette - hard to ID but in a known spot for sharp grenhood. Looks like nodding greenhood to me
It is mushroom season
Also in brown
Chiloglottis orchid closing up - probably seminuda - turtle orchid
Brown form mushroom - the heart shape leaf is an orchid
Spider. The web was vertical attached to something high above my head making it easy to walk around
Wattle flower
Fabulous afternoon light for scribbly gum photo
Cross cut walk goes back into rainforest - wasp orchid budding
Sharp greenhood - orchid 2 for the day
Front on - pterostylis acuminata
Quite a different mushroom
Always a leech - this one did not find a victim
Brush turkey
Did find a bunch of chiloglottis orchids - becomes an ID challenge - maybe chiloglottis diphylla - calli down the labellum
Front on - calli coming down the centre of the labellum
This one looks different - calli do not come down as far - maybe sylvestris
Leaf will help with ID
Budding - smooth edge to leaves
This is a lot easier - sylvestris
A few the same
Red mushroom
One closing up - calli do not come down labellum and there is not a rosette of calli like sylvestris - probably seminuda
Gets harder - sort of like diphylla but not convinced
?
Side on
Leaf
Maybe back to sylvestris
Leaf
Turned into a great orchid walk - 2 types plus possible 3/4 chiloglottis orchids. Next time I will walk up one side and back down the same way. Sure I missed a lot trying to see both sides
Got home to find my wife had cooked dinner - Thai yellow chicken curry. Yum
