A bit of a meander on Phillip Island on a clear blue sky day before we set off down the coast.
Followed a rough track along the shoreline - almost an early morning shot across the wetlands
Quirky place called Spoonville with lots of smiley faces
View across to French Island
Rhyll jetty and boat ramp - coffee stop soon after
Amazing sculpture from a fallen Cypress pine - all one piece
Was keeping an eye out for orchids - a bit dry. Did spy this little pink daisy lookalike
From Rhyll, we cycled across to Churchill Island - it has a long mixed history - now run by Parks Victoria - view across to the mainland with interesting cloud forms
Antique bike rack put to good use
Popular visit to see the farm activity
Fab looking farmhouse across the water
Made our way off the island back to the rail trail where we left it two days back. Traffic was busy. I ride the road to avoid the steep hills on the bike path
Bass Rail Trail at the old Anderson site
View down the trail - a story with clouds in every shot
Trail climbs a bit away from the coast to give panoramic views and clouds
Dropping down to Kilcunda
First of the trestle bridges - view along the deck to the beach beyond
Climbed the fence to get a better view of the bridge from below
Found the stairs to get down to road level for a shot from below
Shot through the arches to the beach behind
Next bridge took a bit of scramble to get below
Cross section of the bridge supports
There were a few more shorter and smaller bridges - from the trail
Target reached at Wonthaggi - a coal mining town
My glamping pod for the night. Rode down to shops for a barbecue dinner shared in the camp kitchen.
A good mix of meandering and riding on a low kms day.
