The Illawarra Airshow is on this weekend. Last year we happened to be on a cycling weekend and had coffee at a cafe close to the end of the airfield
Booked a table - hoping to see the planes flying in to the airfield but the wind is in the wrong direction. Perfect framing - the airshow sign and the dead tree
Got a helicopter in frame - not a lot else. We bought coffee and moved - menu was not inspiring
Found a side street coming off the highway with a view of the runway. Parked the car up the hill and set up a viewing platform. Next year we will have chairs and a table and snacks

We were not the only ones parked with a view of the runway. We did drive down the side of the airfield. Lots of people parked outside the fence with picnics set up. $64 senior price is only for the real aeroplane afficinados
We repaired to shopping mall in Shellharbour for sushi lunch and a bit of shopping.
My wife came with me for the pickleball session. She sat in the shade. I played for an hour - was fun. New paddles will take getting used to
