Another breathtaking Brunei sky demanded to be captured. No need for filters; it was a natural fiery orange, just like that!
Friday today was rather a unique day at work. Instead of my usual tasks related to Learning Support and Speech Intervention, I spent the entire day participating in a full-day training program called the Team Teach Level One Course. This training focused on teaching us positive techniques for effectively managing challenging situations and behaviours. These techniques are not only beneficial for achieving positive outcomes and nurturing good relationships at work but also in our daily lives.
Throughout the training, there was a strong emphasis on skills such as de-escalation, risk management, and minimizing the need for physical restraints. In cases where physical restraint becomes necessary, various techniques were demonstrated and practiced in pairs. Surprisingly, this practical part turned out to be quite enjoyable. It provided us with an opportunity to move around and practice how to safely manage physical situations, such as when a child pulls our hair or attempts to attack us, all while ensuring the safety of both the child and ourselves.
To wrap up the training, we took a quiz, and I'm proud to say that I aced it with a perfect score! It seems I was genuinely interested and attentive throughout the entire day. Woop!
I headed to the salon right after the training because I couldn't stand my hair any longer. I resisted the temptation to get myself an Ilao Ilao yogurt ice cream and went directly to the grocery store to buy some vegetables. However, while waiting in line at the cashier, I received a message from my transport saying he would be 30 minutes late. As you might have guessed, my feet guided me to Ilao Ilao. Well, what else could I have done? 😝😄
