This morning we left Queanbeyan, and said goodbye to Ollie the cat.
I'm such a softie when it comes to the animals we look after.
Even if they do annoying things, like poo on the carpet in protest to our sleep-in (like Ollie did the other morning), I still love 'em.
And when we leave the house-sitting, even if I've struggled to sleep (as I have at every single one) I still feel sad saying goodbye to the animals we cared for.
Ollie was pretty nervous around us when we arrived and skittish when it came to any loud sound, but the 'pet parent' (aka the human who 'owns' the pet) had warned us about these things.
So we were ready to brush him and pat him and play with him.
The pet parent had told us that Ollie particularly liked being stroked and brushed under his jaws. So we did this a lot.
And by the time we were ready to leave he trusted me so much that I could give him a full jaw massage, with both hands at the same time.
He loved it.
And so did I.
