Shyamnagar Kali temple is also called Mulajore Kali temple.
There is a very interesting story behind Mulajore Kali temple. This temple was established in the year 1809 by Gopimohan Thakur, brother of Prince Dwarkanath Tagore. It is said that Zamindar Gopimohan desired to have Maa Kali as his daughter and Ma Kali took birth as his beloved daughter Bramhamayee.
When Bramhamayee turned eight, Gopimohan fixed her marriage.
