Hey dear actifitters and readers,
there was a nice event yesterday. We had two large windmills up in the mountains. By now only one is left. The remaining one will be demolished in the next months too.
The two windmills will be replaced by a even bigger one.
I made a before and after collage to spot the difference.
I started the day with a coffee in the morning and put all the camera stuff in my bag. I rented a carsharing car to drive to the spot I discovered last week.
The blast was scheduled for 2 pm. We arrived one hour before and a I had enough time walk around for finding an even better spot for the camera. And indeed I was successful. The new spot was much more comfortable and the even the view was a little better.
I made a video of the event. Have a look at
On hour way driving to the photo spot we stopped near the windmill to have quick look how preparations are ongoing.
As we arrived the introduction for the security crew was ongoing and some guys started to place the barriers.
When I visited the place last week I could easily walk through.
I put the photo from last week in this post again. The place where you see the excavator is the place where the old windmill will lie after the blast. Or should I better say the remains of the windmill. 😀
I couldn't make picture at this spot after the blast as access was denied to the public. But if you're interested here is a link to a picture by the local newspaper.
Generally it was a nice little adventure. Even it was only a short walk from the car to the photo spot it was beautiful to spent the time waiting in the woods.
Weather conditions were perfect, we had some buns and fruits for picnic.
And I had some time for a short fotowalk at the path nearby.
Taking some pictures of nature and landscape.
And finally some facts about the new windmill. It will harvest twice as much energy as the two old ones together.
The energy will be enough to supply 3500 households with electricity. I think this is big number.
That's all for today. I hope you enjoyed reading and watching.
