Populus balsamifera, commonly called balsam poplar. These trees produce a lovely scent this time of year, not from any flowers, but its the new shoots that give this aroma. A strong musty sort of smell.
I took this walk today at a local lake which has a suspended walkway across the entire lake.
It has been a cold day again so I didn't stay too long.
While I was out, I popped into the local store for refreshments in the form of a few beers!
