What a day for a ride! It was an ideal chance to get out on my mountain bike. The weather was almost perfect, although slightly windy.
I took a regular route through some beautiful forest and woodland parks.
Bluebells are beginning to show now and there are many places where they are in bloom. As you can see in the picture.
This is one of my favourite routes. There are so many different tracks to choose from, which means potentially a different route each time!
Owlbeech and Leechpool woods are popular with dog walkers and I passed many on my ride today. I prefer riding on weekdays though as it is generally quieter.
Up into St Leonards forest which was very quiet. I only spotted one person here. Plus one deer! A lovely forest, and gorgeous in the sunshine.
I stopped at an old seat carved out of an old tree trunk. A great place to stop near the highest point of my ride. From here it's all downhill!
A really pleasurable ride today and now as it's drying up nicely I can try some of the more difficult routes which need more time to dry.
I think this summer is going to be hot again.
