A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.
Today the weather reserve us a beautiful day masked with the cloudy sky. A cold drop encloses the whole peninsula but discharges all its precipitation far from the Gulf of Naples leaving me free to walk around the city.
Since I stayed in the city this Sunday, I immediately set off knowing that some areas of the city would empty at lunch time and I would be able to take pictures without too many passers-by in front of the camera.
Down to Piazza Garibaldi I passed in front of Porta nolana, the picturesque entrance of the city formed by an arch in the middle of two short and fat towers.
In the adjacent alleys there is the market "above the walls" which has been the same for many centuries to come. A medieval market that was inherited by the time it was. That is, time has stopped here.
After this quick stop I took the direction towards the port of Naples and turned right to the Piazza del Carmine. Here there is the majestic and imposing basilica sanctuary of the Carmine Maggiore.
This beautiful religious building in the Neapolitan Baroque style has almost a millennium of history and every year there is celebrated, on July 16, the feast of the Madonna del Carmine with a spectacular pyrotechnic fire of the bell tower.
From the immense wide outside the church you can see one of the towers of the old castle of Carmine that now there is no more and two other piperno towers that once designed the entrance to the square of Carmine.
My journey in deserted Naples continues in Piazza Mercato which, to tell the truth, is not a very crowded place even at other times. At the bottom there is a church that seems abandoned to its fate.
Arrived at the Gothic-style church of Sant'Eligio Maggiore step under the legendary and beautiful arch noting that the clock marked the exact time. Mega LOL!!
Since I had arrived at the four palaces or Piazza Nicola Amore I decided to visit the upper decumanus. It is the third parallel street in the center of Naples of the Greek topography of the city. The street does not have the same wealth of monuments and buildings of the other two Decumani but is still characteristic.
Coming out on Via Toledo I find myself in Piazza Dante to which I dedicated a post on "Liketu" this morning: @davidxxl/eng-ita-piazza-dante-a-journey-back-into-the-pasts-time-at-an-exact-time-piazza-dante-a-back-in-time-ad-unora .
Here I take the opportunity to take a picture of the baroque palace that I noticed I was missing in the collection of photographs of the square.
When I arrived in Piazza del Gesù I took a picture of the "Degas" building, another photo that was missing in my semi-private collection that I share with the fabulous tribe of the Hive blockchain.
Arrived in Piazza Bovio after 12,000 steps I finish my walk through the desolate streets (so to speak) of Naples and I take the picturesque Metro 1 station of the University created in colorful advanced technological style.
Today, getting lost among the hundreds of interesting monuments to see I forgot to take a selfie. At home I wore the fleece robe on the suit not because it is so cold and that I was no longer used to this feeling of cold #alive after 6 months of heat waves that allowed me to get to my #iamalivechallenge 203.
Finally I would like to thank all my friends from the tribe of Alive and all the new friends who happened between the lines of my stories for reading my thoughts and see you at the next actifit report.
