Wow... 15K steps yesterday! I didn't see that coming. It was another typical day walking to school, and in the evening, my partner and I headed to Manhattan to meet my father for a holiday dinner. It's about a half mile walk to the subway station from our apartment in Brooklyn and another quarter mile from the bus stop to his apartment.
Leave it to New York City to decorate for the holidays, even construction overhangs get branches and rope light. We walked a few more blocks to my dad's favorite dim sum spot in his neighborhood. We shared a large bowl of their hot and sour soup, crab soup dumplings, spicy stir-fried shrimp, and General Tso's beef. Very tasty!
After dinner, we walked over to Insomniac Cookies for a sweet treat to end our holiday meal. We bid thanks and goodbye to my dad on the last night of Hanukkah and headed back to Brooklyn. One thing I take for granted is the beautiful artwork in our New York City subway stations.
This image and the cover image were part of a huge tile mural in the subway stop by my dad's apartment in Midtown East. It definitely captures the artistic flair and beauty of the Big Apple, and it makes me happy to be able to share the artwork of my home city with my actifit followers. Be on the lookout for more 5-digit step counts and epic stories as I have another action-packed weekend with holiday parties and EDM club nights waiting for me. Until then... Cheers!
