Over 21K steps on Day 1 of the Electric Forest festival, not too shabby. Finally left camp around noon to refill some gallon water bottles to use for drinking and showers. Then I fixed up some protein shakes and got ready to depart camp at 3pm for a full day of bass music at The Observatory stage, my favorite in the woods.
We made it in time to hear all of Dixon's Violin set, one of the original performers at Rothbury Music Festival (before it became Electric Forest). We stayed for sets from the next 5 bass DJs too: Redrum, Zen Selecta, Super Future, Tripp St, and Zingara. The ladies really tore it up, Zen Selecta in particular with a memorable performance.
This is just one of the collaborative art walls that will get painted over the weekend. I did go on a few errands during our long day at The Observatory, my favorite stage set inside the pristine pine woods. Both missions included me bringing a strawberry + banana smoothie back to our group location at the back of the dancefloor.
These fun signs are from the Frick Frack game zone, which was on the way back over to Ranch Arena, the mainstage of the festival. We saw John Summit & Dom Dolla play one of their combined Everything Always sets from 11.30pm to 1am at Ranch Arena. The production was on point, the weather was fi ally cooling off at night, and the vibes of our group were riding high. Great way to finish off an exciting and exhausting Day 1. Until tomorrow...
