Alrighty then, back over 20K steps. That's what I like to see. Thursday started early with some last-minute packing before loading up the car and driving out to Long Pond, PA for Elements Msuic & Art Festival!
We had several pit stops along the way. First stop for Chick-Fil-A because my partner just had to have it. I got a depressing chicken sandwich that was barely warm enough to indulge my appetite. I dislike this place, and I dislike their food. Would not do again!
Then we stopped at WalMart to pick up a few camping essentials since we got the word that on Day 1 we would have to deal with severe rain and wind for most over the overnight of Thursday and through to Friday afternoon. We bought a $50 canopy and $25 rubber rain boots. Absolutely essential for our survival this weekend, and now I get to splash in the puddles.
We got to camp at 6 pm and had our site set up in mild drizzle in about 60 minutes. We rounded up some friends and made it to the water stage to catch the end of Fly's set, and then all of Lyny and Of The Trees. The Memory Palace Records stage takeover for the Thursday pre-party was great, and I got to dance the night away with friends until the music stopped at midnight.
Do you know what else stops at midnight? My daily fitbit recap. Check back tomorrow to see how we held up in the rain! Until next time...
In the picture is the newly designed water stage, with a rounded DJ booth and setup looking like psychedelic octopus.
