Well, it's Sunday at midnight. Although I've still got a few more sets left in the festival, my summer vacation has come to an end. With our campsite all packed up, once the music stops, we're hitting the road for Brooklyn.
We caught the fireworks at Chris Lake b2b Cloonee and then headed over to the Earth Stage for the final set of the weekend. We caught the last few minutes of The Disco Biscuits before the changeover for Subtronics' second set of the day.
Although he blew out the mixer within his first couple minutes of the set, the tech crew was quick to switch it out and remedy the situation. It was a proper way to end the fest, with our entire group camp together for the last few hours together.
While the set was great, I was completely gassed. I was not able to keep my energy up even though it was one of the best I'd heard all weekend. Luckily, I caught a second wind around 1.30am, so the last 30 minutes I tapped in to boogie down one more time.
I drove the first bit out of camp and into town to fill up the tank. But then my loving partner took over to get us home while I slept. We pulled in around 5.15am, unloaded the car, and parked by 5.45am. Getting all the camping gear up the stairs was quite the workout that I didn't need.
I got about 90 minutes of sleep before popping into school for our first day back in the building to prep for the new school year. It was only after the first two trainings when we got to lunch that I realized my fitbit was still at home charging since it died midday Sunday.
Well, I still racked up some steps walking around the building in the afternoon, but it could have been much better if I didn't have battery issues. After training ended, I bolted home at 4pm and quickly melted into my sheets. I got myself a big deep sleep. Until next time...
