Gosh, this image speaks volumes about how reliant the US is on cars to get around. Not me, though! Luckily, I get to walk a few blocks to work for my morning commute.
I'm still getting my 10K+ steps in for the 2nd full week of school. If you look at New York City, you'll notice just a few counties speckled in orange representing us NYers that rely on public transportation to get around one of the great modern cities of the world. No other city in the lower 48 states can claim the same, and only the remote counties of Alaska lack the driving infrastructure to support automotive transportation.
Well anyways, I did jump in a carpool with my partner at 4.30pm for a drive up to Rhode Island for a weekend getaway with some other couples at a rustic beach house. Definitely trying to hold onto these fleeting days of summer while we still can. Hopefully, it warms just a bit over the weekend, so it's not so cold getting out of the Atlantic Ocean waters.
We'll see if I can keep my step count over 10K while relaxing on the beach. Wish me luck. Until next time...
