I did such a great job making sure to post every day at the Canadian festival two weeks ago and then failed to check in once in the two weeks since. Shame too, because I racked up a bunch of steps seeing Subtronics headline Avant Gardner for back-to-back nights on July 31 and Aug 1.
After that, it was basically my last week of laziness as I got our apartment back in order after a month of traveling. The big last hurrah is Elements Music & Arts Festival, my favorite camping festival in the Northeast US. It is also the last weekend before I go back to school, so it will be a bit of a culture shock to leave summer holiday and get back to the daily grind of a middle school classroom.
Wednesday I hung out with my mom and we went to see a Vincent Van Gogh art exhibit at the NY Botanical Gardens, with real-life sculptures of his most famous works.
Thursday I packed up and drove to The Poconos to get the Airbnb ready for festivities. I managed to clear 10K steps, but just barely, with some boogie woogie at our in-house after party. Of the 5 couples staying at our airbnb, 3 of the fellas are DJs, so we're not short on entertainment.
Friday we enjoyed our first full day at the fest and we managed to do a decent job getting out of the house for a 5pm set. We stayed until 2.30am then booked it back to the airbnb once the main stages shut for the night. The hot tub is never hot enough!
Saturday was the fullest day at the fest. We got there by 4pm and danced all day long. The bass artists kept the beats flowing until Zeds Dead closed down Day 2 after a very memorable set seeing Wooli with our whole rave family together.
Hopefully I'll find some time to upload some pics and check in tomorrow to cover the epic last day of Elements. Until next time...
