Saturday was an action-packed day that saw me top 20K steps again for the 2nd time in three days. It started bright and early at 6am with Chelsea playing the early game in the English Premier League. I made it to The Football Factory for my first game of the season with the world-famous New York Blues. We rejoiced as Chelsea bagged an unspectacular 2-0 win. They make the best Irish breakfast in the game!
I headed back to Brooklyn to make brunch for my partner before setting out for an afternoon adventure. We started at a local art exhibit at Skewville titled "They're All Gonna Laugh At You" after Adam Sandler's debut comedy album. It was a collection of artworks with a centeal theme of comedy and commentary. Here are some of my favorite pieces from the exhibit:
This Uber lunchbox of 16 fused lunchboxes blew my mind!
These last three pieces are from a viral artist, Danny Cortez, who makes these miniature models of quintessential New York venues complete with stickers and graffiti that mimics NYC culture. It was so cool to see a mini version of your local bodega!
Finally, after I took pictures of just about every cute piece of art there, we headed off to relax in Central Park for a few hours before a quick dinner. We shared a fried chicken sandwich, mac & greens, and beef parang curry.
Then it was time for the featured activity, heading to The Metropolitan Museum of Art rooftop for sunset. The line was long when we showed up at 7pm with only 30 minutes to spare, hut we made it up to the roof just in time to snap off some gorgeous sunset skyline pics of NYC.
By the time we finally took the bus to the subway home around 9pm, we were both completely gassed. Look at those steps counts, can you blame me?
I felt like I was running of fumes after my early start for EPL action. I got home, packed a bong, and hit the sack within 10 minutes. I was proper pooped out. Time to recover with a slow Sunday. Until next time...
