Sunday was all about one thing: Chelsea v. Arsenal! Riding high after a 3-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League midweek game, Chelsea was hosting the hottest soccer team in the world, Arsenal. The gooners are leading the Premier League and are the only team with 5 wins from 5 games in the Champs League group stage.
Going out for the game at The Football Factory with the New York Blues was the only reason I left my apartment all weekend. Thank goodness, because I needed more steps to work off all the Thanksgiving feasting.
The game itself was a bit of a letdown, as Chelsea's best player, defensive midfield Moises Caicedo, got a red card with 60 minutes left in the game. Inexplicably, Chelsea scored the first goal of the game 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Unfortunately, The Blues could not hold onto the slender lead playing down a player for an hour. When the final whistle blew, the two London clubs split the points, honors even at 1-1.
Not the result we wanted, but likely the result we deserved. After the game ended, I stopped at my favorite dessert shop to grab an adorable matcha pudding after my subway ride back to Brooklyn. I got back home around 3pm and managed to do a lot of nothing for the next 10 hours until bed time. Maybe I'll get active again soon. Until next time...
