It's been a very busy week away since I last dropped some steps on Hive. The last 2 days of the ski trip were just perfect. Weather got warmer. Sun came out. Snow got softer and the legs loosened up so I got a little wild in the woods on the hunt for fresh lines in the snow.
With the pristine conditions after the big blizzard, I got to take advantage of amazing terrain at Bear Mountain, including Devil's Fiddle, Wildfire, and the blades Centerpiece and Growler down the face of Bear Mountain. I'm really thankful the caretakers of Killington's slopes have been opening up more graded areas between epic runs like Outer Limits and Bear Claw! Roundabout glades were popping too, and I made a few laps down that drop as well. Upper Cascade and Old Superstar continued to be highlights of the front face.
After a weekend in paradise (sat jan 31 & fab 1) it was back to the grind of frigid BK and a long week of intro to Algebra. I was knocking out steps like a champ. Over 10K the whole week, but sadly Actifit didn't rally know much about it until now.
Well, at least Friday count! LFG! I got nice extra bump of steps on Wedneaday since I took my partner and our roomie to see a showing of my favorite Braodway show out right now -- Hadestown! The current cast was going to depart at the end of February, so I wanted to see them in action before they departed. It was spectacular as ever, and I was immediately reminded why I love this musical so much.
A sweet song, a sad song, a happy song, a mad song. A tale of hope and heartbreak. Greek mythology has it all. Orpheus and Euridyce with Hades spoiling the occasion. But it made for a great date night out. Big double header of dance music this Saturday for our first run of shows in 2026. I couldn't wait. Until next time...
