Did some test cuts on some thicker steel plates on the CNC plasma cutting table. We tried cutting 3/4 of an inch thick steel and 1-in thick steel.
No luck getting through the 1 in, we did successfully cut some 3/4 in! This photo below is a 3/4-in thick plate cut to a 3-in square!
This cut came out pretty good, still the cuts aren't perfectly straight up and down, but that's what you expect with a plasma torch.
We'll see if this thing can cut 7/8" thick one day! But 7/8" only comes up a couple times a year.
We also did an art cut on 1/8" of an inch thick sticker checker plate! Was the tree of Life, yin yang thing!
The Beast cut out pretty good, was along tool path to follow. Was fun to watch!
But most of the practice we did this day was! Squaring plates. Taking larger plates, and cutting them into smaller plates, cutting different thicknesses of plates into squares. Good times!
