Album Title: The Calgary Stampede Album
Artist: Steel Inc
Song #3~ The City's Got A Bounce
"The City’s Got a Bounce" is the high-energy party anthem of the album, capturing the electric pulse that takes over Calgary during the ten days of Stampede. Moving beyond the parade, this track creates a sonic map of the festival, taking listeners from the rumbling Grandstand and the rowdy tents of Nashville North to the rock shows at the Coca-Cola Stage. The lyrics emphasize the transformation of the city, describing how the "old mountain feeling" and "wide Alberta skies" combine to wash away the winter blues.
The song also pays respectful homage to the deep cultural roots of the event, referencing the Powwow drums, the First Nations Princess, and the stories preserved at the SAM Centre. With a chorus built around an infectious "Bounce" rhythm, The Steel Inc band connects the geography of the city—from the Bow River to the C-Train line—to the heartbeat of the crowd, celebrating the collective release and joy of the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth."
This album aims to be a contribution to the celebration that is the Calgary Stampede!
Please enjoy responsibility!
