Yesterday I drove home to Utrecht after an amazing three-week trip to Lisbon, Granada and Barcelona. I slept in a hotel in Dijon and took a quick look at the city.
Compared to Amiens, Dijon was well-preserved, quiet and middle-class. Even university students didn't bring much life on a Sunday morning.
Such a classy place wallowing in history and gastronomy is not what I tend to like, but Dijon was simply too pleasant to hate it - also outside of the historical center, where there were proper bike lanes, plenty of sports facilities and just a lot of space in general. I bought the famous mustard, cherry liquor and a kind of spice cake without any spices. I even considered having lunch outdoors at a restaurant, but then it was time to get back on the road.
