Soil is the top layer of the earth surface on which plants grow. Soil is made from rocks that are broken up into tiny pieces, as well as dead leaves, dead roots and dead insects. It also has water and air in it. Soil holds plants up so that they don't fall over. Soil makes good and water for plants to grow big and strong. Animals like earthworms, rabbits and moles burrow and live in the soil. Petroleum is found under the ground and is used for making petrol for cars and different chemical products. We have Sandy soil, Clay soil and Loamy soil. Sandy soil is used for building, Clay soil is used for moulding and Loamy soil is the best soil for planting.
