Office day — from home, but not lighter
A long day at the desk, even if the desk was at home. Several emergencies popped up, one after another. By the end of it, the feeling was that not much had actually moved forward. The kind of day where the office work — remote or not — ends up feeling quite useless.
Afternoon errand — dad's gardening run
A bright spot appeared in the afternoon. I drove my dad to the store to pick up gardening supplies. His car, my role as designated driver — a small but proper errand that felt better than any Zoom call. As a reward, I came home with fresh lettuce and fresh onion. Even better.
Late evening — planting in the dark
Back home, the real work began. Five tomato stalks went into the ground. Two haskap bushes were replanted. By the time I finished, it was already dark. Soil under the fingernails and a few things in the ground that will be there next spring — that counts as something.
Night — doggy walk and a 4K run
A doggy walk to loosen up, followed by a 4 km run at a sub-6:00/km pace. The legs felt it, the lungs enjoyed it. A proper reset after a day that had gone nowhere fast.

The #poprzeczka
Day 13 of May. The bar was set at 13,000 steps. The official count stopped at 6,300 — not even halfway. This month's #poprzeczka challenge is over for me. The pattern from the last couple of months continues: strong start, steep drop around day 11–13, and the rest of the month playing catch-up with no real chance.
Never mind. The month still brought runs, gardens, lettuce, tomatoes, haskaps, and a good movie night earlier in the week. It was great nevertheless.
