Greetings of the day,
Today was a very good and balanced day for me, because it had the energy of sports and also the experience of service. The morning started with a cricket tournament held in an open field. Light cool breeze, people all around, spectators sitting on the side of the field and greenery spread far and wide - the atmosphere was such that I automatically felt like playing. People were sitting in their own groups, some on sheets spread on the floor and some on chairs, and everyone was enjoying the match with full attention. The presence of everyone from children to the elderly in the field was showing that sports is not just a competition but also a medium to connect people.
While playing cricket, the body remains completely active and a different excitement is felt in every movement. Running, fielding, keeping an eye on the ball — everything together makes the morning very energetic. During the match, more important than victory or defeat was the laughter and mutual coordination which became stronger with every over. After the game was over, the body was a little tired, but the mind was completely refreshed. Such events provide an opportunity to escape from the everyday hustle and bustle and spend some time with ourselves and the society.
By afternoon, the second aspect of the day began, which was entirely related to service and responsibility. After cricket, I reached for my hospital duty. The atmosphere was completely different – calm, disciplined and sensitive. Here every step has to be taken thoughtfully because there are people in front who need care and correct information. During this time, my main job was to explain the importance of hand hygiene to the patients and the people present there. The correct method of keeping hands clean, when it is necessary to wash hands and how to use sanitizer properly – tried to explain all these things in simple language.
While working in a hospital, the realization becomes deeper that how small habits play a big role. Many people take keeping hands clean lightly in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but when explained to them in the right way, they also start taking it seriously. Some patients and their families asked questions, shared their experiences, and it was great to see that they were interested in learning. It is only this kind of conversation and awareness that slowly brings change.
Today has taught me how important balance is in life. Sports to keep the body active in the morning and an opportunity to do something for the society in the afternoon – both together make the day meaningful. It feels good to share such days on Actifit because it is not just about counting steps, but about recording experiences that make us better physically and mentally. Hopefully we will get to live such active and purposeful days in the coming days too.
