Hi Actifitters,
since Garmin thought my training was unproductive due to a lack of anaerobic sessions, I jumped on my bike yesterday with the goal of changing that. To avoid overexertion again, I deliberately opted for a shorter climb - 236 meters of elevation gain over a 7 kilometer route. I managed to get my heart rate up to 178 and also set a new personal record. The maximum power output I can maintain for 20 minutes is now 258 watts.
Full of anticipation, I checked my stats in the Garmin app, only to discover with disappointment that my training status was still unproductive. While the bike ride had a considerable high-aerobic effect, it had virtually no anaerobic effect. So I did some research and found out that the best way to achieve an anaerobic effect is through interval training.
So, today's plan is exactly that – an interval session. I haven't specifically searched for workouts on Zwift before, but I'm going to change that today. I'm sure I'll find an interval workout that focuses on anaerobic exertion.
