(I took this photo of the Watzmann—the highest mountain in the Berchtesgaden Alps—last weekend from the balcony of our accommodation.)
Hi Actifitters,
despite an annoying day working from home, I managed to carve out an hour after lunch to hit the pedals. Since I had eaten a relatively unhealthy meal, my body visibly struggled to manage both digestion and physical exertion simultaneously. This manifested itself in two ways: for one, the workout felt much more sluggish right from the start; and for another, my heart rate was quite high.
Here are some numbers from yesterdays session:
Duration - 1:03:51
Distance - 35.21 km
Elevetaion gain - 157 m
Average speed - 33.1 km/h
Maximum speed - 54.4 km/h
Average power output - 185 watts
Maximum power output - 630 watts
Average heart rate - 154 bpm
Maximum heart rate - 182 bpm
Average cadence - 84
Maximum cadence - 115
In the future, I will avoid working out immediately after eating.
I don't have a firm plan for today yet as far as training goes. But I'll come up with something.
