Last weekend I had the chance to see the Giant Doraemon, Elmo, Grimace and Labubu floating in Victoria Harbour as part of the event named Water Parade.
The location of this event was in Tamar Park in Admiralty Station. However, the organiser divided it into two locations: one is free admission, and the other has an admission fee.
The advantage of paying an admission fee is that you can access a nice viewing deck, photo spots near the inflatable cartoons, participate in various games, and have the chance to obtain extra souvenirs. Additionally, there are souvenir shops with exclusive products for fans and collectors, but this was located inside the pay area.
For the free admission area, you can see giant floating sculptures of Doraemon, Elmo, Grimace, and the newest cartoon character, Labubu. Although the view is not as lovely as the one with payment, you still have the chance to see the beautiful decorations.
As you may know, Labubu was introduced in 2015 by a Hong Kong illustrator, and it has gained increasing popularity over time. Nowadays, you can see people everywhere with stuffed animals or even as keyholders. I have seen on social media that Labubu has become so famous around the world.
I really love the rubber duck style because they have used marine clothes for the decoration, and it looks so cute.
