Assalamu Alaikum! How are you? I hope that you are doing great. I am fine too, Alhamdulillah. Here is my 895th actifit report. It is also the Alive and Thriving report on Saturday, 6th of May, 2023.
Being the single GP on duty, on Saturday I consulted 60 patients in my chamber. Of them, a good number of cases were from the paediatric age group. The previous child specialist left the job and no new specialist has joined yet. Hence, we, the GP doctors, need to consult the paediatric cases as well. In the visa medical section, 42 people came for the check-up.
There was one 43-year-old Bangladeshi patient who visited me on Saturday with complaints of acute abdominal pain, abdominal distension and no passage of faeces & flatus from the previous night. His abdomen was quite distended and percussion note was consistent with gaseous distension. I did one plain abdominal X-ray. The radiological features were consistent with acute bowel obstruction. Surprisingly, he wasn't vomiting. Hence, the obstruction was most likely in his large gut. After giving symptomatic management, I referred him to the higher centre.

On Saturday, I had 11 and a half hours of duty, instead of 9 hours of regular duty. I went home after 10 pm, instead of 8:30 pm. So, after having dinner and playing with my kid for a while, I went to bed before midnight.
