Hey Actifitters,
If you've followed my sports blog from time to time, you have probably noticed the recurring theme of the past three or four weeks... Rainy weather in Germany.
The much-talked-about climate change seems to be taking a break, treating us to the rainiest summer in living memory.
Okay, that's an exaggeration; I momentarily fell into the apocalyptic rhetoric of the ideologues. Nevertheless, this summer has been as rainy as spring had been, except for a few weeks in June.
While I'm not made of sugar, I don't particularly enjoy walking around exclusively with an umbrella.
That's why today, I treated myself to another indoor day where I could occupy myself with office work, writing, and bodyweight exercises.
To achieve a bit more accountability here as well, I'm going to document these bodyweight exercises daily from now on to see if I can really do them every day and push myself a bit.
After ten consecutive days, I'll increase the number of repetitions to avoid stagnation. However, there must be no break; otherwise, I have to start over.
My little training routine consists of:
• Dynamic stretching
• 5x10 Ab-Roller
• 5x20 Push-ups
• 5x20 Squats
These exercises are separate from my regular weightlifting program at the Garden Gym, which is currently on hold due to my back injury, or rather, has been washed away in the rain :o).
Bodyweight exercises cannot replace a proper weightlifting program, but they can complement it. Let's see how consistent I can become in this area.
I probably won't reach the same shape I had ten years ago, nor my previous strength levels, but getting close to them again is my goal.
Let's go!
